Hazmat incident at Port Botany

Firefighters from Matraville, Botany, Hazmat specialists from Alexandria and the Duty Commander responded to a leaking container onboard a ship this afternoon at Port Botany. Access to the leaking container was hindered by several other containers which needed to be removed. Once access was gained, the leaking container was removed from the ship and placed on a spill trailer to contain the spill. Firefighters ensured that the spilt product onboard the ship was cleaned up.
