Serious accident in Marsden Park

Rescue firefighters from Blacktown and Dunheved, Hazmat specialists from St Marys, firefighters from Riverstone and the Duty Commander responded to a very serious truck and car accident on Richmond Road, Marsden Park this morning. On arrival crews were confronted with a large refrigerated truck which had rolled onto three cars, trapping three people. A crane was requested and rescue firefighters liaised with a doctor on scene and ambulance paramedics to determine the priority to extricate the trapped people. While the rescue operations were being completed hazmat crews confirmed that the refrigeration system was intact. Two of the extricated people were taken to hospital by helicopter and the third was taken by ambulance.
