Community Fire Units (CFU)
Do you live near the bush in NSW?
If you live near the bush, there is a chance that your home could be impacted by a bushfire. Being prepared is your best protection when bushfires threaten. For the safety of you and your family and the protection of your property you should prepare ahead of the bushfire season.
You need the knowledge and training to ensure your property is appropriately prepared. You also need to make the decision to leave early or stay and defend your property from spot fires and ember attack.
You and your neighbours could benefit from becoming volunteer Community Fire Unit Members.
By becoming a Community Fire Unit member you will receive training and equipment which will help you prepare your home and make informed decisions for yourself and your family about whether to stay and defend your property or leave early when bushfires threaten.
Being a volunteer CFU Member is about preparation and prevention. With the correct information, training and equipment, you can reduce your bushfire risk and cut down the impact of ember attack on your property.
